Engaging Children, Teens, and Parents in the Life of the Jewish Community
The "Workshop of Good Deeds" project aims to involve children and teenagers in creating various useful items needed by the underprivileged members of our community.
Project Description:
Within the project, children and teenagers craft various useful items, which are then passed on as real help to elderly people and children from low-income families. The project has been running since 2016.
Project Goals:
- Engaging children and teenagers in useful work for the benefit of our community;
- Instilling new skills in project participants;
- Developing responsibility and respect for the needy members of the community;
- Involving children and teenagers in the life of the Jewish community;
- Ensuring continuous intergenerational connection.
Role of Volunteers:
- Attracting participants to the project;
- Generating ideas for future crafts;
- Providing comprehensive assistance to project participants;
- Distributing the crafts to those in need;
- Direct participation in creating useful items.
Project Results Over 7 Years:
- Participants have handmade eyeglass cases, pot holders, towels, scarves, etc.;
- Providing the needy with useful household items;
- Increasing the number of project participants;
- Strengthening intergenerational connections;
- Developing useful handicraft skills in children and teenagers.
