The "Food Security" Project
Food security projects have been operating within the Volunteer Community network since 2020.
The "Food Security" project has been consistently supporting low-income members of our community by providing them with essential food items necessary for maintaining their health. Through this project, our beneficiaries receive food packages, challah bread, and can attend free meals. During the summer, the food baskets for project beneficiaries are enriched with a variety of fresh vegetables and fruits.
This summer, thanks to surplus harvests from local gardeners, volunteers delighted our beneficiaries with homemade red currant jelly! The delicious berry dessert, lovingly prepared by volunteers, was portioned into small jars that were creatively decorated by the young members of our volunteer center. The result was both tasty and visually appealing!
The jars of red currant jelly were included in the food and Shabbat packages for the beneficiaries of OBEOC "Hesed-Rahamim." This thoughtful addition was greatly appreciated by the elderly members of our community, who, due to their age, are no longer able to make homemade preserves themselves.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the volunteers for their active involvement in the lives of our community members and their caring support! With your help, our beneficiaries receive everything they need for a long and active life!
