Organizing and conducting creative workshops for the elderly and volunteers with the aim of socialization.
The "Our Hands Can Do Everything" project is aimed at the socialization of elderly community members and the prevention of dementia through the development of fine motor skills, which are engaged during various types of creative workshops.
Project Description:
The project has been in existence since 2022. As part of the project, creative meetings are held twice a month in both online and offline formats, depending on the mobility level of the participants. During the meetings, elderly participants engage in crafts and painting - activities that maximize the use of fine motor skills.
Project Goals:
The main goals of the project are:
- Improving cognitive health and preventing dementia in elderly people.
- Socializing seniors through regular meetings.
- Unveiling creative abilities and acquiring new useful skills that allow participants to showcase their talents.
- Enhancing the quality of life for elderly people.
Role of Volunteers:
Volunteer tasks within the project include:
- Selecting topics for creative workshops.
- Choosing materials for classes.
- Organizing and conducting events.
- Providing technical support during online meetings.
- Offering necessary assistance to project participants during events.
Project Results:
- 200 project participants (140 online and 60 offline) over 2 years of its operation.
- 45 volunteers involved in the project.
- Combating loneliness and stress among the elderly through regular communication.
- Enhancing the quality of life for elderly community members.
- Combating dementia and improving cognitive health among elderly people.
