Providing Minor Household Assistance to Elderly Hesed Client
The "Kosher Guest" project is designed to offer household assistance to elderly and mobility-impaired Hesed clients, based on requests from the clients themselves or program coordinators.
Project Description:
The project has been operational for about 5 years. Under this project, clients can request help from volunteers to handle everyday household issues such as cleaning, grocery shopping, accompanying them to medical appointments, and more. Additionally, beneficiaries receive gifts for Jewish holidays and necessary rehabilitation equipment.
Project Goals:
- Provide practical household assistance to elderly and mobility-impaired Hesed clients.
- Improve the quality of life for project participants.
- Maintain social connections within the community.
- Foster respect for the older generation.
Role of Volunteers:
- Pack holiday gift sets for clients.
- Deliver gifts.
- Provide necessary rehabilitation equipment.
- Assist with household tasks (cleaning, grocery shopping, medications, minor repairs).
- Accompany clients to medical appointments or on walks.
Project Results:
- Over 100 grocery and holiday gift sets delivered.
- Several dozen clients received rehabilitation equipment.
- Regular household assistance provided to Hesed clients.
- More than 90 shopping trips made for clients.
