Beit Tamkhui: "Volunteer Hot Meals"

With the onset of the lockdown, elderly people, identified as a vulnerable group, were prohibited from any movement around the city.

The Beit Tamkhui: "Volunteer Hot Meals" project was created to provide elderly community members with complete hot meals that cover their nutritional needs.

Project Description:

The project emerged during the pandemic, when all city movements were banned, cutting off elderly people’s access to social dining facilities. Volunteers prepare nutritious hot meals for elderly community members, adhering to all sanitary norms, and then deliver them to the recipients while avoiding direct contact.

Project Goals:

  • Providing elderly people with hot meals during the pandemic.
  • Maintaining a balanced diet for project participants.
  • Supporting the health of elderly individuals by ensuring proper nutrition.
  • Improving the emotional well-being of elderly people in isolation.

Volunteer Roles:

  • Compiling lists and contacting participants.
  • Developing menus.
  • Purchasing necessary ingredients.
  • Preparing hot meals for the recipients.
  • Delivering meals to project participants.
  • Recruiting new volunteers for the project.

Project Results:

  • 20 volunteers involved in the project.
  • Providing elderly people with complete hot meals during social isolation.
  • Maintaining a balanced diet for elderly community members.
  • Supporting the health of elderly individuals through proper nutrition.
