Sweet Jam Day
The annual charity event "Sweet Jam Day" on Rosh Hashanah brought together 53 volunteers from the project.
In Moscow, the annual volunteer charity event "Sweet Jam Day" took place, dedicated to the holiday of Rosh Hashanah. The event united 53 volunteers and students from three Moscow Jewish schools.
We always remember that among the beneficiaries of Hesed, there are many lonely elderly people, and any interaction is extremely valuable for them. Rosh Hashanah is a wonderful occasion for good deeds. In anticipation of the holiday, we combined the efforts of the volunteers.
To gather a sufficient amount of sweet gifts for the elderly, we organized 2 days of making jam, and three Moscow Jewish schools - ORT, "Tkhia," and "Etz Chaim" - set up jam collection points right in their schools. Students, along with their parents, cooked jam at home and brought it to the schools. The children also created 95 greeting cards with warm wishes for the beneficiaries of Hesed.
For Rosh Hashanah, 612 jars of delicious homemade jam were prepared and collected for the Hesed beneficiaries. Ten volunteers from Sipur and six young people from the Moscow AJT Club - Generation N - helped with the delivery.
