"Shabbat at home" Project
Our volunteers visit lonely members of the foundation and spend Shabbat or Havdalah with them.
Winnie the Pooh could say this if he participated in the Shabbat at Home project.
As you might guess from the name, our volunteers visit single members of the foundation and spend Shabbat or Havdalah with them.
In the photo, Rita and Gleb spend the first Havdalah in their lives for Svetlana Efimovna. In addition, this was the first time that Shabbat/Havdalah at home was held among the owners of one profession. All three of our wards, by education and field of activity, are engineers. Thus, six volunteers were able to discuss with them the intricacies of this profession, work at the research institute and talk about current events in the Jewish community.
Meetings within the framework of the Shabbat at Home project create a favorable atmosphere for interaction, support and exchange of experience between volunteers and wards. They help strengthen bonds in the community and improve the lives of single people.
