Baking traditional sweets for Purim
Moscow volunteers baked Omentashen for elderly friends
On the eve of Purim, "Joint" volunteers gathered in the Hillel of Moscow to bake traditional sweets for the elderly.
The get-together began with a lecture by the famous Jewish historian Arthur Klempert.
During the lecture, the participants remembered the history of Purim and talked about the traditions of the holiday.
After the lecture, the volunteers divided into groups: while some were kneading the dough for Omentashen cookies (also known as "Aman's Ears"), others were preparing the filling for them.
Together, participants managed to bake more than 320 "Aman's Ears" and prepare 80 boxes of treats for grandparents.
