Baking Challah for Shabbat
Once a month, volunteers gather to bake challah for the community's wards.
On the first Thursday of the month, volunteers from the Center in Khabarovsk gathered for a joint baking of challah for Shabbat. Challah is a traditional Jewish bread, carrying significant symbolic importance for every member of the community. To uphold traditions, Khabarovsk volunteers regularly come together to prepare challah for elderly wards.
On such days, the kitchen at the Center is bustling with activity: some knead the dough, some shape the challah, while others ensure the baking is done evenly. Their combined efforts yield excellent results. Typically, by the end of the event, up to 25 pairs of fragrant challah adorn the table, ready to take their worthy place on the Shabbat table.
This time, 24 families had the pleasure of enjoying the taste of challah, as volunteers delivered the baked goods ahead of Shabbat. We thank the volunteers for their assistance in maintaining the traditions of our community! Your efforts bring joy to dozens of our wards, who greatly appreciate the attention and care!
