Volunteer Center based at the organization "Russian Jewish National-Cultural Autonomy of the Smolensk Region"

It is no secret that any Jewish community or charitable organization is supported by volunteers, philanthropists, sponsors, and simply caring individuals. Thanks to their help and support, projects aimed at volunteer assistance to elderly people and support for community members have been implemented even before the creation of the volunteer center in Smolensk. For example, during the pandemic, the need for assistance and communication was especially noticeable. Our volunteers regularly called clients every week, delivered gifts for Shabbat, and those who wished could meet individually with project psychologists. Ongoing volunteer work with the community helped to smoothly transition to the creation of the Volunteer Center.

The Volunteer Center combines already established traditions of assistance and provides an opportunity to diversify volunteer activities, attract new people, and of course, reward volunteers, which we consider essential.
