Inspiring Retreat

Volunteer work requires not only the desire to help, but also knowledge, skills, and the ability to work in a team.

On August 15–16, a useful retreat was organized for the Pavlodar volunteer group BeYachad. The event combined volunteer training, planning for the coming year, and a Shabbat gathering.

The training sessions were aimed at raising the professionalism of the volunteers, since, in addition to the desire to help others, volunteer activity requires certain knowledge and skills, as well as the ability to work as a team.

The sessions were structured so that volunteers learned how to:

The importance of such events for the personal growth of each volunteer can hardly be overstated. Here they learn responsibility, empathy, develop communication skills and leadership qualities. In addition, wonderful opportunities open up for them to put their knowledge into practice: visiting orphanages or hospices, taking part in environmental initiatives, organizing public events, or helping people in regions affected by emergencies.

According to the volunteers, retreats like this can significantly change one’s outlook on life. In addition to gaining valuable experience, they make new acquaintances and find friends.

“When you see the results of your work — people’s smiles, their gratitude — you realize that it was all worth it. And the training before the retreat gives confidence and a sense of security,” shared volunteer Natalya Mayorova.

We thank the organizers and participants of this event! We are sure that for each person this retreat was especially useful and interesting! We look forward to new meetings!
