Vitamins from the Garden Bed

Launch of a new project in the city of Tiraspol

The project "Vitamins from the Garden Bed" was created with the goal of providing healthy dried fruits to low-income elderly members of the community, participants of the "Synagogue" project.

Project Description:

As part of the project, community members donate surplus fresh fruits so that they can be turned into dried fruits, which are then delivered to low-income members of the community for holidays and during the winter period. Educational seminars may also be held about the importance of healthy eating and reducing food waste.

Project Goals:

  • reduce the amount of food waste;
  • support a healthy diet for low-income members of the community;
  • unite people through volunteering, build a community;
  • raise awareness about proper nutrition and the need to reduce waste;
  • support cultural community events by providing dried fruits.

Role of Volunteers:

  • promoting the project;
  • organizing the collection of surplus fresh fruits;
  • preparing and packaging the dried fruits;
  • delivering dried fruits to low-income elderly members of the community;
  • preparing and conducting educational seminars as part of the project;
  • attracting new volunteers to the project.

Project Results:

  • reduction in food waste;
  • improvement in the diet quality of low-income elderly members of the community;
  • strengthening of social ties within the community;
  • providing dried fruits for traditional community events;
  • growth in the number of volunteers.
