Online Project "Comedy Club"

Socialization of elderly people, overcoming loneliness among the elderly through online meetings.

Online Project "Comedy Club"

Humor has always been the best weapon in dealing with life's challenges. Positive emotions help maintain emotional balance and overcome any difficulties, which is especially important for elderly people. The wonderful online project "Comedy Club" aims to help in this matter.

Target Audience:

The project is designed for lonely and immobile members of the community who, due to circumstances, cannot attend offline events and need socialization and positive emotions.

Project Description:

The project holds regular online meetings where participants communicate with each other, share jokes and funny stories, and also listen to satirical works.

Project Goals:

Participation in the project helps immobile and lonely elderly beneficiaries to make new acquaintances, develop social connections, and maintain regular communication with other community members. Additionally, the project's thematic focus on humor allows combating stress and "recharging" with positive emotions. As a result, the level of stress experienced by lonely elderly people decreases.

Role of Volunteers:

The "Comedy Club" project is organized with the support of volunteers who are responsible for selecting material for the project (jokes, satirical works) and conducting the events themselves, maintaining a positive attitude among participants and providing a comfortable environment for communication. A good sense of humor and excellent diction are important criteria for choosing the host of online meetings. Technical support for online meetings (monitoring sound for elderly clients) is also part of the volunteers' responsibilities.

Project Results:

Currently, the project has more than 200 clients, with over 100 people able to participate in online meetings simultaneously. There is an increase in the level of social interaction among elderly project participants. Initially, during the first meetings, the volunteer mostly led the conversations, reading humorous stories, but after several meetings, the participants took the initiative, spending 90% of the time communicating with each other. Our clients eagerly await new meetings and prepare for them by finding suitable material. Most clients leave positive feedback about the project, and among the most active participants are 35 individuals.
