Holiday in Every Home

Socialization of elderly people, social inclusion of elderly people in the modern life of the community

Online Project "Celebration in Every Home"

Loneliness is a scourge of modernity, especially affecting elderly people. To address this issue, there is a wonderful project called "Celebration in Every Home," in which lonely, immobile elderly members of the community can participate.

Project Description:

The project holds online meetings where important topics are discussed, including the history and traditions of Jewish holidays. Our beneficiaries listen to music and participate in engaging quizzes. The communal interaction helps them recall known but forgotten facts and learn new ones. Online meetings serve as an excellent alternative for community members who cannot attend offline events.

Project Goals:

Participation in the project helps establish connections within the community and leads to an active social life even for immobile elderly individuals. Regular meetings support and develop communication skills, contribute to overcoming loneliness, and enhance the quality of life.

Role of Volunteers:

The "Celebration in Every Home" project is organized with the support of volunteers whose efforts are aimed at maintaining a positive atmosphere during online events and providing technical support (monitoring sound for elderly clients). Volunteers also prepare and conduct online meetings, create presentations on the topics of Jewish and state holidays in the PMR.

Project Results:

Currently, the project has over 200 clients, with more than 100 people able to participate in online meetings simultaneously. The online format is highly appreciated not only by immobile but also by other elderly community members who also participate in the events. Our beneficiaries eagerly take advantage of the opportunity offered and express immense gratitude for the pleasant communication and broadening of their horizons.
