Food Security in Karaganda
The Food Security project is aimed at providing food assistance to the most vulnerable clients.
The wonderful Food Security project has grown significantly over the years and has become one of the largest initiatives at our center. We started with 10 food packages from a single sponsor, and today the number has grown to 35. Moreover, by the end of the year, we plan to increase this number to 40. The project is designed to support socially vulnerable groups, such as low-income elderly clients, pensioners, families with children with disabilities, large families, and people in difficult life situations.
Our volunteers assemble food packages based on essential needs and healthy nutrition requirements. Typically, the packages include long-shelf-life products such as grains, canned goods, and other specially packaged food items. This allows beneficiaries to use the packages as needed and store them for as long as required. Additionally, thanks to our sponsors, the packages regularly include fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, and ready-to-eat meals, providing more variety in the beneficiaries’ diets.
Currently, the project has three permanent sponsors and five unique partners who provide support several times a year. Considering the project began with just a single sponsor, this growth is very encouraging. The increase in sponsors allows us to expand the project’s reach and include more people who need assistance. The main priority of the project is to continue developing the program and enhance the efficiency of targeted aid so that as many people as possible receive the support they need.
We sincerely thank everyone involved in the Food Security project and wish it continued growth!
