Big Brother
“Big Brother” brings together educational and social initiatives.
The spring day camp marked the launch of the new and promising “Big Brother” project, aimed at carrying out an educational and mentoring mission among children. The initiative was created by teenage volunteers from the NJB club — Varvara Posledova, Vlada Dzvonik, and Evgeny Popov — who decided to take on the role of mentors for younger kids.
As part of the project, children attend Hebrew and English classes where they can develop their knowledge. Unlike traditional boring lessons, the project follows the golden standards of informal education, encouraging freedom of expression and friendly communication.
Participants study the basics of Hebrew and English through interactive assignments, games, and communication practice, helping them absorb material more easily and build self-confidence. In addition, the organizers arrange trips and outdoor activities aimed at broadening the children’s horizons and strengthening team spirit.
Among these trips were visits to an ostrich farm and the high-altitude Medeo skating rink. Spending interesting time together contributes greatly to the development and strengthening of team spirit, the creation of shared interests, and the formation of strong friendships. It is safe to say that the “Big Brother” project has a bright future, as its role in educating and supporting the younger generation is difficult to overestimate!
