Volunteers at the City Garage Sale

Participation in the city garage sale has become a wonderful tradition for our center’s volunteers in Karaganda.

Volunteers from Volunteer Community Karaganda took part in the traditional event known as the “Garage Sale,” organized to raise funds to support low-income members of the community. This year, a special guest returned for the third time — Din the rabbit, who happily posed for photos with visitors for a symbolic donation of one dollar.

The volunteers prepared the space for the event in advance. A cozy tea table was arranged so guests and participants could relax and enjoy spending time together. In the days leading up to the garage sale, volunteers collected items that would later be sold during the event. The sales went quite well, and by the end of the evening the fundraising box already contained $95.

The volunteers worked in teams that rotated throughout the event. Some were responsible for delivery and arranging the items, while others handled the sales. After the garage sale ended, the team gathered the remaining items and delivered them to the Hesed center.

All the funds raised were directed toward patronage support for vulnerable community members, helping sustain important social initiatives within the community. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the organizers and everyone who participated in the garage sale. We look forward to seeing you again next year!
