Volunteer Passover Seder

The Passover Seder in Almaty brought together 55 volunteers from the Rimon Community Center

Volunteers of the Jewish Community Center "Rimon" held a special Volunteer Seder in Almaty, where members of the AJT youth club had the opportunity to learn more about the traditions of the holiday from more experienced volunteers. In return, the younger generation shared their knowledge about the Exodus from Egypt and the unique customs of Passover. This mutual exchange became a meaningful moment of generational connection — a key element in preserving and passing down community traditions.

Thanks to this collaborative Seder, a shared vision of the holiday took shape — one that will serve as a foundation for volunteers of all ages working across various initiatives. According to Inessa Chugainova, Director of Hesed Almaty, the festive meal was not only a celebration of the first night of Passover but also an opportunity to discuss future volunteer plans and educational efforts. Later, the volunteers shared their insights with children, seniors, and members of the family club.

At the end of the Seder, each participant received a symbolic gift — a box of matzah from Israel. We are grateful to all our volunteers for their dedication to preserving and passing on cherished Jewish traditions. Your commitment strengthens our community and brings generations closer together!
