Tree Appliqué
Now volunteers in Tiraspol are also helping to run creative workshops for children
At the AJT club, a handicraft workshop for children was held by our volunteer Sofia. This time, the theme of the class was “The Tree”, and each participant was invited to create their own unique tree out of paper and modeling clay.
Sofia suggested using the torsion technique to achieve a three-dimensional appliqué. Under her guidance, the children eagerly got to work.
During the process, the participants were able to fully express their creativity while also reflecting on the similarity between a person and a tree — how important it is to strengthen and nourish one’s roots in order to bear good fruit over time.
The workshop coincided with the opening of the family club “Mishpaha”, and the children’s crafts became heartfelt gifts for their parents, symbolizing the bond between generations and the strength of family traditions.
