Strolling Together

Culture truly brings people together—regardless of age.

This year, Good Deeds Day offered elderly individuals a wonderful opportunity to enrich their cultural and social lives. As part of the heartwarming initiative “Strolling Together”, members of the older generation spent time in the company of volunteers while visiting various cultural sites, including the Museum of the History of Chișinău, the National Museum of History of Moldova, the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History, the National Museum of Art of Moldova, the “Sensorica” Museum, and the A. S. Pushkin House Museum. This initiative became possible thanks to our museum partners, who generously provided free tickets for participants.

Based on the interests and preferences of the participants, six groups were formed, each visiting one of the six museums in Chișinău. Each group was accompanied by our volunteers, who provided the necessary support and simply stayed close for engaging conversation and sharing impressions. The volunteers managed to create a warm and meaningful space for communication, where everyone felt like part of a united whole.

During the enjoyable outings, participants explored the exhibitions with curiosity, shared their impressions, and told personal stories. This interaction proved to be incredibly valuable for the volunteers as well, since experience is the greatest treasure the older generation can pass on to the young. The initiative held great significance for people of different ages: elderly participants were able to break out of social isolation and reconnect with the rhythm of the city, while young people gained insights and life wisdom from those who came before them.

We thank everyone who took part in our cultural initiative. Special thanks go to our partners—without them, this good deed wouldn’t have been possible! We are confident that many more exciting events await us in the future!
