"Keep up with the times, develop and never rest on our laurels" - these are the thoughts with which we approach the organisation of work within the RVC.
Guided by these words, since 2022 the RVC Volunteer Center has become part of IAVE and GNVL, the possibilities of this partnership allow us two things that are so necessary in our profession:
⁃ Be the first to receive new knowledge from volunteering professionals from all over the world;
⁃ To share our experience with others.
For two days, on the 9th and 10th of May, our managers Iulia Barbaneagra and Alexandra took part in the GNVL conference in Lisbon. On 9 May the theme was: "Volunteers impact measurement". The day when GNVL members from different countries met at Casa do Impacto, and the team from Portugal talked about new projects and innovations in the field of volunteering. The gained knowledge showed once again the importance of developing social initiatives.
On the 10th of May, two groups of participants came together: representatives from the voluntary and commercial sector. The theme of the meeting was: Volunteering in Crisis Situations. Here, our team spoke about their experience of working in the crisis to help refugees from Ukraine.
Apart from informative meetings Julia and Sasha, being in Portugal, took some time to visit the Jewish Cultural Centre in Lisbon and learn about its history and projects.
Thanks to IAVE and GNVL for this opportunity!
