Productive Work

Community members in need regularly receive targeted food support

Within the framework of the Food Security project at the Almaty Jewish community center Rimon, elderly residents, people with disabilities, and low-income families regularly receive targeted food assistance. The project is managed by volunteers from the teenage and youth clubs of the community center at Hesed Almaty.

The volunteers’ task is to assemble and then deliver food packages containing essential groceries to their beneficiaries. Currently, 50 beneficiaries receive regular support through this project. Besides providing tangible physical assistance, the project holds great educational value. By participating in volunteer activities, young people learn how to independently organize aid campaigns and fully appreciate the importance of this help for those in need.

By handing over the food packages they prepared themselves, the youth have the opportunity to learn from the experience and knowledge of older generations, absorbing important traditions and Jewish values. This exchange between generations helps strengthen our community and build new social connections. Each month, the number of young volunteers grows, and we are very happy about this! We thank everyone who participates in our volunteer campaigns and genuinely helps those facing difficult life circumstances!
