Partnership Between the Synagogue and VC
In September, the Synagogue hosted the charitable event “Day of Goodness” in cooperation with the Volunteer Center at Hesed.
On September 28, our Volunteer Center at Hesed, together with the Synagogue, held a wonderful event called “Day of Goodness”, aimed at bringing warmth and care to those in need within our community. Participants of the event prepared food packages to be personally delivered to those facing difficult circumstances.
Each package included grains, sugar, flour, oil, fresh fruits and vegetables, and a special treat — a round challah and a chocolate cake from the kosher bakery at the Synagogue. It’s no surprise that our clients received these gifts with deep gratitude! For the volunteers, the greatest reward was seeing joyful smiles and hearing kind words in response.
A total of 11 volunteers took part in the event — 9 women who assembled the food packages and 2 men who helped with the deliveries. Fifteen community members received these pleasant and tasty gifts. For many of them, the volunteers’ help is often the only opportunity to bring some joy into their lives and experience positive emotions!
We thank everyone who took part in our event! It’s especially heartwarming to see new faces among our volunteers — this time, our volunteer family welcomed a new member, Natalia Demkina. We are confident that our family will continue to grow with kind people who cannot remain indifferent to the troubles of others. See you at our next events!
