Matzah is the Head of Everything

Volunteers from the city of Shymkent took an active part in preparing for the holiday of Passover

This year, our volunteers, as always, eagerly awaited the wonderful holiday of Passover. To support the festive atmosphere, they held several meaningful activities. First of all, to delight their beneficiaries, the volunteers purchased and packed food products, prepared 20 gift sets for vulnerable members of the community, and personally delivered them to the recipients.

The volunteers of the “Help in the Work of the Children’s Club” project also took part. Arkady Rivkin, Zoya Brovkina, and Marina Brodskaya prepared engaging games, educational quizzes, creative activities, and cooking workshops for the children, where they were able to become more familiar with the traditions of Passover and develop a sincere interest in the culture of their people. This lively format is much closer to the children than boring traditional memorization. By expressing real emotions, children quickly absorb what the older generation seeks to pass on to them.

The volunteers also took care of the little ones in the kindergarten. Eight people took part in a matzah-making contest, and the matzah was then sent to the children. Thanks to the volunteers’ efforts, the little ones were able to celebrate the holiday while following ancient traditions and becoming acquainted with Jewish culture from an early age.

We thank all the volunteers who took an active part in preparing for Passover and wish everyone a happy holiday!
