The first traveling seminar of "Maagal" Volunteer Coordination Service "Maagal Workshop 2021", was held in Moscow since the beginning of the pandemic. It was arranged by the "Joint" Charitable Foundation together with Hillel Moscow.

The volunteers spent three days together, discussing important issues of volunteering and coming up with new projects. They learned to develop communication with elderly people and studied various creative techniques in working with them. Many volunteers saw each other in person for the first time, as they communicated only by phone or in Zoom before, being participants of the same volunteer activities.

Our partners and invited speakers helped to create an amazing atmosphere of unity at the seminar.

The participants from the Jewish teenage club Nikitskaya Generation, having arranged the most heartwarming musical Kabbalat Shabbat, opened the seminar.

The speakers of the Corporate Well-being Platform "Ponimau" conducted an intensive and useful training for volunteers;

Evgenia Pyatakova, a methodologist of the "Care is nearby" Coalition, told the participants about the basics of environmentally friendly communication.

At the author's master class of the artist Nadezhda Gerzhoy, volunteers created colorful masterpieces in the technique of monotype. Many of them were inspired by this form of art therapy and plan to apply new skills in working with elderly wards.

Svetlana Drozdova introduced the participants to music therapy. Each volunteer had the opportunity to try to play unusual musical instruments and try to build a "musical communication" with each other.

“I really liked the seminar program! I got so much useful information for self-improvement!”, one of the participants shared. 'Well, and an incredible sense of unity. There are so many of us, we are very different, but we all glow with the same thing, which is helping other people. I'm leaving and feel excited, as I want to start doing a lot of good deeds right now!", he added.
