J-Serve Day at the Nursing Home

In Karaganda, 20 young volunteers brought joy, attention, and care to lonely elderly people

On April 6, as part of the J-Serve Day project, a charitable event was held at the "Omir" nursing home, organized by the children of AJT Junior and the teenagers of AJT "Shatil." This warm and heartfelt gathering for elderly residents featured a rich and creative program designed to bring a wealth of positive emotions. Twenty young volunteers took part in the event.

The host, Erika, warmly welcomed the guests, followed by a lively dance flash mob led by madricha Yana that filled everyone with energy and positivity. Afterward came a musical break during which madrich Zakhar performed the song "Salam" on guitar, along with several other heartfelt pieces. The audience was thrilled. Next was a candle-making master class led by Karina.

One of the most memorable moments for many was the theatrical performance of the fairy tale "The Jewish Kolobok," organized by Viktoria. Vivid characters, an engaging storyline, and the sincerity of the performance left no one indifferent. The program concluded with touching poetry readings by Eva, Evangelina, and Hanna, who recited verses filled with kindness and heartfelt warmth. Our guests truly enjoyed every moment, and the volunteers received enthusiastic, heartfelt applause in return.

To conclude the event, a nursing home resident recited her own poem, stirring strong emotions among the audience and our volunteers. We thank the AJT Junior and AJT "Shatil" teams for their attention to the elderly and their efforts to bring more joy and variety into their lives. This wonderful meeting will remain in the hearts of our guests for a long time and continue to warm them with its kindness!
