Intergenerational Gathering “The Light of Hanukkah”
Hanukkah is a holiday of light, memory, and small miracles that happen when people come together.
Hanukkah is a celebration of light, remembrance, and the small miracles that occur when people gather together. For RVC, this is always a special time filled with meetings, warm initiatives, and projects centered around caring for others.
Today we opened the Hanukkah season with the intergenerational gathering “The Light of Hanukkah.” About 50 participants came together in a cozy setting—children, adults, and seniors alike. The morning became a true space for dialogue between generations.
Participants teamed up to play “Jeopardy” focused on the history and traditions of Hanukkah. Thought-provoking questions, surprising facts, lively discussions, and friendly competition turned the game into a real intellectual celebration.
After the game, we continued the morning with traditional Hanukkah sufganiyot. Fragrant doughnuts, unhurried conversations, and warm smiles became a natural continuation of the gathering, where the light of Hanukkah candles was reflected not only in symbols, but also in human connections.
“The Light of Hanukkah” is just the first event in a series of Hanukkah activities at RVC. Many more meetings, projects, and initiatives lie ahead—ones in which light and support will shine especially brightly. This time of year always brings opportunities to make someone’s life a little warmer. Join us!
