Intellectual Game at "Alts-Café" for Hesed Clients
On June 5, an intellectual game was held for the participants of "Alts-Café."
Once a week, from January to July, volunteers from our center eagerly await elderly Hesed clients at "Alts-Café." Our participants enthusiastically engage in entertaining activities that help maintain and develop cognitive abilities, allowing people in their "golden years" to live life to the fullest.
One of these much-anticipated gatherings took place on June 5. Participants of "Alts-Café" gathered around a large table to play the fascinating game of Rummikub. To succeed in this intellectual competition, it's not enough to just know math and the logic of numbers; quick reflexes and keen attention are also essential.
The participants eagerly arranged rows, watched the jokers and colors, and supported each other throughout the game. Regardless of age, everyone felt young and active again during the game. The sparkling eyes of our participants brought to mind the famous quote by Bernard Shaw: "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing."
We thank our volunteers for creating such an enjoyable experience for our participants and for filling the day with positive emotions! We eagerly anticipate future meetings, confident that they will be just as engaging and fun!
