On July 18, an inspiring team-building event took place at Dendrarium Park for the volunteers of the Origins of Mercy project. This outdoor gathering turned into a heartfelt meeting of like-minded people, filled with bright sunshine, the scent of fresh greenery, smiles, and live conversations. The goal of the event was to strengthen connections and improve collaboration among team members to provide more coordinated and effective support to elderly beneficiaries in the future.

The day began with an engaging quest, “The Heart of a Volunteer.” Participants split into teams to solve challenges, guess who was who from childhood photos, discuss their first steps in volunteering, and share their current experiences—stories, emotions, and thoughts. One of the quest’s activities included conversations with representatives of the older generation, who spoke about how the city had changed, what life was like for young people in different eras, and what advice they would give to today’s youth. This laid a strong foundation for intergenerational connections.

The second part of the day focused on creativity: the volunteers joined a watercolor painting master class led by artist @obozrevateli. During the class, participants were less focused on technique and more on experiencing color, form, and mood—expressing them on paper. The resulting artworks were bright, warm, and deeply personal, reflecting the team spirit and the shared mission uniting all project participants. Later, these creative pieces were given as gifts to elderly beneficiaries of our center.

Such outdoor gatherings contribute significantly to the development of the volunteer movement. They strengthen the team, foster new connections, and promote effective teamwork in the future. They also offer an opportunity to recharge, relax, and feel part of a large and friendly family.
