In Touch with Care

Phone calls from RVC volunteers are more than just words.

From September 22 to 26, RVC volunteers called 150 Hesed clients to congratulate them on the holiday and give them a few minutes of sincere communication. This remote interaction turned out to be incredibly warm and trusting, bringing the members of our community even closer together. It’s no secret that during the holidays many of us long to feel support, and even a simple greeting like “Shana Tova!” (Happy New Year!) can fill the heart with confidence that you are not alone and that there are people who are always ready to help!

Phone greetings for Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, have already become a good tradition at RVC, since we are sure that kind words and attention can bring no less joy than gifts or personal meetings! This time, the participants of the campaign were Aleksandr Skripnik, Svetlana Stolbikova, Alla Ustetskaya, Elena Katrandzhi, Arina Kirdan, and Larisa Zinkovskaya. Their attentiveness and kindness made the holiday truly meaningful for our clients.

Call center volunteers are always sensitive to the moods of those on the other end of the line. The conversation might end with a warm greeting, turn into a heartfelt exchange of memories, or simply serve as a reminder that no one is truly alone. After the campaign, the volunteers shared their impressions:

Phone greetings once again proved that distance is no obstacle to care and attention. Just a few kind words can fill the day with light and bring the joy of the holiday. To truly become close, it’s enough to simply call and say — “Shana Tova!”
