Immersive Exhibition "Shadows of the Past"

Immersive exhibition dedicated to Holocaust Remembrance Day: Passing on memory through interaction.

On January 26, in honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day, an immersive exhibition was organized by the Haverim youth platform and the Republican Volunteer Center (RVC). This event gathered participants eager to learn about the events of the past and preserve the memory of the Holocaust.

The exhibition was divided into several spaces, each offering a unique perspective on the events that occurred during the Holocaust. Visitors had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the past by exploring texts, documents, and testimonies from that time. Special attention was given to the personal memories of those who survived the tragedy. Each hall was filled with stories that, despite their tragic nature, served as a powerful reminder of the importance of remembering the Holocaust and the fates of those who lived through it.

In one of the spaces, participants could hear the stories of eyewitnesses—those who survived the Holocaust, whose personal memories have become an integral part of how we perceive these tragic events today. Their stories revealed human resilience, pain, and hope, demonstrating the importance of preserving the memory of those who endured unimaginable suffering.

The event concluded with a symbolic act: the lighting of candles and a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the Holocaust. This moment became the culmination of the exhibition, embodying the main idea of the event: it is crucial to remember so that the tragedies of the past do not repeat themselves in the future. Participants paid their respects to all those who perished in these horrific events with deep reverence and seriousness.

The event was an important reminder of how vital it is to preserve historical memory and pass it on to future generations. The theme of the Holocaust requires constant reflection and attention, and such initiatives provide not only an opportunity to honor the memory but also a chance to gain a deeper understanding of the tragic events of the past.
