“Holidays to Regions” event

Throughout the autumn, volunteers of Jewish Community from Vitebsk were congratulating people not only from local centers, but across all regions.

Autumn is a time of the year that is packed with the holidays. For these three months, the Jewish nation is celebrating five very important traditional holidays: Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Simchat Torah and Hanukkah.

Every holiday has its own unique characteristics, traditions, and process of celebration. From our side we try to study the traditions, save them and transmit them to the future generations to carry in the memory our rich jewish history.

Throughout the autumn, volunteers of Jewish Community from Vitebsk were congratulating people not only from local centers, but across all regions. Thus, volunteers have visited the elders from Lepel, Polotsk and OrshaLepel, Polotsk and Orsha.

Specially for this event, volunteers have made apple jam and packaged it into jars that were hand decorated on the previous master-classes. The jars of jem were delivered to our lonely old friends together with some souvenirs and food boxes.

We want to make it clear that doing good deeds is simple and sometimes the smallest sparks of care and attention towards others can spark a fire of love and gratitude. Take care of your traditions, spread love and it will return back to you!
