Healthy Food Basket in August
On August 28 another round of food basket deliveries took place for the elderly of Chișinău.
On August 28, as part of the Healthy Food Basket project, volunteers from our center delivered food packages to elderly clients. The main goal of the project is to provide senior citizens with the essential foods they need to maintain their health and active lifestyle. In addition, to raise awareness about healthy eating, project participants regularly attend educational sessions with nutrition specialists. This time, nutritionist Kamilla shared her knowledge.

When forming the food packages, the basic needs for nutrients and vitamins were taken into account. The baskets included familiar and healthy products such as pasta, buckwheat, peas, chickpeas, lentils, rice and other grains, oil, and canned goods. This time we also added a selection of herbal teas, which help improve sleep, reduce stress levels, and lower blood pressure.

During the lecture, the experienced nutritionist Kamilla spoke about the benefits of the products included in the baskets, answered common questions about proper nutrition, and explained in simple terms the role proteins, fats, and carbohydrates play in the body. The project participants noted that they now feel more confident about the topic of nutrition and finally received answers to questions they had been postponing for a long time.

Our Healthy Food Basket project not only helps people learn more about the benefits of healthy eating and receive essential foods, but also serves as a demonstration of genuine care and support that elderly people need so much. We want our senior citizens to know that there are always people nearby ready to support them. Each such event reminds us that attention and participation make life easier and more comfortable for those in need.
We thank everyone who took part in this initiative and look forward to new meetings within our wonderful project!
