Gifts of Summer
Vitamin Volunteer Action for Seniors in Karaganda
A heartwarming charity initiative — the “Gifts of Summer” vitamin campaign — took place in Karaganda. The idea was simple but full of care: to bring joy to seniors with bright, fruit-filled baskets.
Volunteers collected the necessary funds, purchased fresh summer fruits, carefully washed them, and arranged them in colorful baskets.
Since fruit is quite expensive now and not every pensioner can afford it, this thoughtful gesture was especially well received by community members.
As always, volunteers personally delivered the baskets, spending time with Hesed clients: asking about their well-being, listening to their needs, and sharing community news.
It was particularly encouraging to see new volunteers joining the action, while — true to tradition — teenagers from the AJT youth club also took part.
In total, 20 fruit baskets were prepared and delivered, filling homes with the flavors of summer and the warmth of human attention.
