Get the Child Ready for School

On the eve of the new school year, Hesed volunteers carried out their traditional charitable initiative.

Every year before the start of the school year, Hesed volunteers in Pavlodar help low-income families prepare their children for school, providing them with everything they need for a successful academic year. This time, as part of the “Pack a Backpack” campaign, 14 children received school kits, including both first graders and older students.

The funds for the campaign were contributed by 19 people. A dedicated volunteer then selected the necessary school supplies and assembled the kits. Additionally, in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Hesed clients joined the initiative by purchasing stationery themselves and passing it through MFK Olga Trofimova to the Kolpakov family, who are raising four children. The assistance was timely and much needed.

The children were thrilled with the gifts and eagerly examined their school kits. While having all the necessary supplies won’t automatically make someone an honor student, it allows them to feel confident and strive for their best. We can confidently say that alongside the gift kits from our volunteers, the children received a strong boost of confidence and motivation for a successful school year!

The annual “Pack a Backpack” campaign takes place across four Hesed centers in our region. This year, it helped 78 schoolchildren! The initiative once again demonstrated that together, we can achieve much more. On September 1st, the community’s children went to school feeling the strong support of our large and caring volunteer family!
