Forum of the Project “Origins of Mercy”

From August 8 to 10, the Volunteer Forum “Origins of Mercy – Together We Care” took place.

Between August 8 and 10, a large-scale event was held — the volunteer forum Origins of Mercy – Together We Care, which brought together volunteers from three regions of the country: Chișinău, Tiraspol, and Bălți. In total, 50 people took part in the forum: 30 participants from Chișinău, 12 from Bălți, and 8 from Tiraspol.

An important feature of the forum was that participants had the opportunity not only to gain theoretical knowledge but also to reinforce it in practice. The main focus was on key aspects of volunteering and supporting elderly people. Attendees were able to join thematic sessions offering essential knowledge and tools for further successful work. The topics of the sessions included:

No less attention was given by the forum organizers to the development of volunteers’ creative skills. Participants had the chance to attend a number of creative workshops, and the knowledge they gained will be useful within such popular RVC projects for the elderly as “Our Hands Can Do Everything”, “ArtDor”, and volunteering at the Day Center.

The educational part of the forum was combined with creative and entertaining activities, including musical bingo, a talent show, and a detective quest, which allowed volunteers to experience the power of team spirit and feel part of a large and friendly family. Significant spiritual highlights were the joint celebration of Shabbat, the Havdalah ceremony, and the warm holiday of Tu B’Av. These moments reminded everyone of the importance of shared values, respect for traditions, and of course, the atmosphere of unity.

Special recognition goes to our wonderful lecturers, without whom the forum would not have taken place: Elena Deruga, Irena Pokladova, Lyudmila Semina-Gitsu, Aleksandr Kiseev, Adel Beschetnikova, Valentina Mihalko, and Lyudmila Pikus. Special thanks also to our partners — Librarius, who provided participants with vouchers to purchase books on time management, leadership, working with elderly people, and professional volunteering. This wonderful gift will help participants continue to grow and develop.

The Origins of Mercy Forum demonstrated that the DNA of the volunteer movement is made up of learning, shared traditions, and heartfelt human connection. Together We Care is a philosophy that unites and inspires new good deeds.
