Recently, according to the Jewish calendar, the year 5784 began, signaling the start of the autumn holiday Rosh Hashanah. One of the ongoing goals of RVC programs has been to provide opportunities for volunteers, elderly individuals, and children to immerse themselves in the history and culture of the Jewish people.
Let's recall the events organized as part of the Rosh Hashanah celebration.
Shabbat always brings the opportunity to spend time together, uniting different generations. It's a time for sharing experiences, making acquaintances, and enjoying a cozy atmosphere. As part of the "Cooking Together" project dedicated to Rosh Hashanah, volunteers and guests came together to celebrate Shabbat, participate in an engaging program prepared by coordinators, and conclude the holiday with the enjoyment of delicious pies and other treats prepared in advance by volunteers along with the elderly.
Furthermore, leading up to the Rosh Hashanah holiday, we held our third volunteer meeting in the "Self-Love Coach" format as part of the "About Self-Love" project. At this meeting, each volunteer had the opportunity to explore their desires through coaching and metaphorical cards. The primary goal of such meetings is to provide energy and resources and to find answers to pressing questions, shaping one's own comfortable path to fulfilling desires with a caring attitude toward oneself.
One of the most anticipated moments from the "IMPROart" project, which has been ongoing for over half a year, is the performance by participants in a staged reading, "Preparing for Rosh Hashanah." The play was prepared by the "golden age" activists under the guidance of volunteer Natalia Britkova. For a month and a half, six participants met weekly, worked on the script, assigned roles, rehearsed, and improved their diction. Their efforts were not in vain, and the premiere of the play was a brilliant success. The daytime center for the elderly was so impressed with the performance that they organized a repeat showing at an off-site event in Vadul lui Voda, where about 100 elderly Hesed clients gathered.
Join us at RVC, and let's do good and find joy in every moment. Thank you for being with us, and may the new year bring many happy moments and accomplishments into your lives. See you at future events and projects!
