Day of Remembrance in Bălți
The Volunteer Center in Bălți attended events dedicated to January 27.
Volunteers from our center marked International Holocaust Remembrance Day with a special event aimed at drawing attention to this tragic chapter of our shared history. On January 27, they held a memorial gathering at the Holocaust Memorial and also organized a thematic exhibition.

In complete silence at the memorial, the volunteers laid flowers at the monument dedicated to those who endured the horrors of the persecution of Jews during World War II. According to official data, the number of victims is estimated at 6 million, many of whom came from the territory of present-day Moldova. As descendants of these people, we are obliged to remember this terrible tragedy so that it never happens again. As a symbol of eternal memory, our volunteers lit candles.

As part of the exhibition, brought from Israel, visitors were immersed in the atmosphere of boundless horror and sorrow reflected in photographs from that era. This was followed by a performance dedicated to the Holocaust, prepared by students from a local lyceum. Such initiatives are especially important for the younger generation, who often know little about the horrors of war and cannot grasp its scale and consequences. But even members of the middle and older generations took away an important lesson that will stay with them for a long time. No one and nothing should ever be forgotten!
