Action for the Holiday of Tu BiShvat
In the city of Almaty, volunteers carried out a community improvement initiative.
On the eve of the long-awaited holiday of Tu BiShvat, it is customary to plant trees in order to strengthen the connection with the land and emphasize the bond between people and nature. This year, volunteers from the Magen HaTov supported this ancient tradition by organizing a beautification effort for the area surrounding the Hesed center, as well as its indoor spaces.
Young volunteers focused on protecting the trees from pests. They whitewashed the trunks, paying special attention to the large oak tree growing at the entrance to the Hesed, which symbolizes the strength of the Jewish community. This procedure is known to support tree health, while also giving them a neat and well-maintained appearance that pleases both guests and staff.
Our active senior volunteers took care of the indoor plants. They planted заранее cultivated houseplants, including chlorophytum, begonia, and sansevieria. These plants made the помещения more уютными and beautiful, while also helping create a healthier indoor climate by enriching the air with oxygen.
We thank everyone who took part in this volunteer initiative!
