If you are looking for a volunteer who wants to participate in everything that happens, so this is Julia Potikha. That is what Julia says about herself: “Hi. My name is Julia, I am 20 years old. I am a student, a poetess and, simply, a volunteer.

The Volunteer Center, unfortunately, she did not enter immediately, it was with the help of the Youth Club “Derech” in Beit Grand. What for do I volunteer? I do volunteering work, in order to direct my energy, which is more than enough, to the right direction. It is very important to feel useful to those who surround me. And also it is important to develop yourself in various interesting directions.
The relevance of volunteerism, of course, is that there are always people in need of assistance. And, the most important moment is, that there is always someone who will gladly help them.
The volunteering is the relationship between the thousands of people who work as one big body. For someone to screw a light bulb is the difficult work, but for someone else, it is like to click your finger. So, why not to introduce them for the successful cooperation. Thanks to such work the society blooms in my eyes. This gives me the faith in the surrounding world, invaluable experience and good people. »

At the moment, I am the head of the program “Family Club” in Lviv Heseda. From the moment of opening of LVC I took an active part in its life, and the organization of various actions. Now I head the LVC direction to the work with Temporarily Displaced Persons from the Luhansk and Donetsk regions, and also I head the direction to the volunteer work of the Jewish community in Lviv.
As for me, the volunteering is not only the help to the other people, but also sometimes it is an opportunity to try yourself in the different sphere and to seize new skills.

She studies in the senior year, and she has to choose her future profession. We hope that participation in the “Video Guide” project will help her to choore her future career.

I am in the communal center since 5 years, I have been brought by my grandmother into the summer camp. It is possible to say that I have grown here. Last summer I was the President of the group of 30 people for three days. For the first time I have created the world in which for everyone there is the place and occupation. Probably, after that I have understood for myself the structure of the state, who is responsible for and as the world is arranged. That there are people as my grandmother, who need special attention. And that I can change something to the best and in this, the real world. Let it is not global, but where I am, it is necessary. And with the volunteering as the concept, I have got acquainted recently, before, I thought that  I do just what I  have to do. I consider that volunteering is actual today because people  have different problems, which they cannot solve at the level of the state and social services. Here we appear!

I do volunteer work from the year 2013. I used to work only on sporting events such as the Universiade, the fire of the Olympics, the WORLD CUP for fencing etc. The volunteering has helped me in finding new friends, to communicate and in the practice of foreign language. Now, working in the community, I’m starting to get interested in the volunteering of its other side : the help to the older people and children. I madly please to be helpful in this mortal world and I try to help, to do good things and to be always in the center of events. 🙂
And the relevance of this issue now is quite high because people will always act to the effect of “Tom Sawyer”: one started, the others I want to do it, too. Here is no exception, when people saw and are interested in such a thing as volunteering, they immediately want to be involved in everything that is connected to this beautiful case as volunteering. Everybody began to help, and to work together for the benefit of the humanity, and so on.
Plus, it must never be forgotten about the fact that people will always compete with those who are similar to them and when someone sees that his friend/rival/teammate turns out to work the volunteer better, more and qualitative, so then this someone begins to pursue higher goals and in volunteering too

Hello everyone! My name is Liza, and I am the coordinator of the animal assistance project (assistance to the Krasnodog animal shelter). All the inhabitants of our planet, including myself, see homeless animals every day, and I want to do at least something to help them. I found out 2 years ago that in our city there is a shelter for animals “Krasnodog”. Our volunteers and me went to help the shelter, and I was very impressed. I saw many injured animals, and they suffered from people’s behavior. When I had seen this, I wanted to show people what happens to those whom we do not care about. That’s how the project, which I coordinate, has appeared in our volunteer center.

I am 28 years old, I have graduated RGSU in “Sociology”, a year I have studied in Jerusalem in “Machon Meir” within the program MASA. I have two children. In the project “Memory. Help. Generations” I am from its basis. In 4 months from the participant I have passed into the  coordinators of the volunteers. Now I am, mainly, engaged in the processing of the incoming calls from elderly people. Thanks to the project, I can do something socially significant, often without leaving the house that for me, as a mother of two small children, is very important. During my work in the project I have got acquainted with remarkable people: as volunteers, and those from whom I collect the  information about the dead relatives, for further transfer to the museum “Yad Vashem”, I have learned a set of interesting stories of life, I have tried to help to those people with something whom I face on the work in the project, together with the other volunteers.

Igor Khuznetzov. I am 29, I have a good job, I attend football trainings and lead a healthy lifestyle.
All these I make for myself. But what can I do for the other people? The answer for this question I got not so long ago, in February 2015, when because of my curiosity, I attended the lessons at the Volunteering School in the Community Center. My friends have already attended these lessons at this Community. From that time I understand that I can really help to the other people, and I can see the result of my actions, moreover, I can see the results of our team. I became the volunteer of the project “Volunteer Landing”, because in this project I can easily find the application of my skills and physical strength. I am very happy, because, as it is said: “Better latter than never”, also, I want to add that it is very important to understand that you can help to the others

Lyuba was born and grew up in Tomsk (Russia) in the family of radio engineers. Then her father was transferred to the city of Rivne, so, the whole family moved here. About 12 years ago Lyuba’s father left for Germany. A few years later, Lyuba’s sister Vera with her children also immigrated to Germany.

Lyuba graduated from the Department of Pharmacology of the University of Chernivtsi and has been working for many years as head of a pharmacy.

She is married and has a son, Mikhail. She lives with her husband Oleg and her mother Nadezhda Zarkh who sings in the Freileche Neshama choir.

Lyuba and her whole family take an active part in all Jewish Community Programs. Her son Mikhail attends children’s creative studios and the Sunday School. They go to Shabbatons and family camps. They are members of the Young Family Club and participate in almost all Community projects and celebrations.

When Rivne Volunteer Community was founded, Lyuba and her husband came up with great ideas: Lyuba runs the Flea Market Project and Oleg runs the Beauty and Health Project. Lyuba got this idea because she is fond of fashion and hates to throw clothing away.

Wonder Hat Project is another great idea of hers.

Her motto is: “It is easy to do good deeds but it is hard to forget about them”. That is why she helps others.

My first project with “Juice” was the Fieldman project. When I was going to this project, I didn’t think of the fact that it would be so cheerful and interesting. But it has turned out that it has really brought me much pleasure, and of course many selfie)))
I am very thankful to this project for an opportunity to spend time with advantage, but at the same time it is interesting to spend the time with the remarkable people. I hope, we will be able to help a bigger number of people!

Reception document service assistant.

Hobbies: I write poems, prose and I enjoy being photographed.

My volunteer career began when I was at school in 11th grade. My friend and I signed up for an action against extremism and drug trafficking. We walked around the district and made photos of “advertisements” of drugs, smoking mixtures, and various inscriptions such as swastikas, which offend different nationalities. We sent all the information to a police officer.

Later, I was a volunteer in the search and rescue team “Liza Alert” and searched for missing people. I placed announcements about the search, notified the public about the results, and I was also the organizer of the “Memorial Day of the Perished Children” supported by “Lisa Alert”.

I wanted to be a volunteer from a Jewish organization, and I learned about the existence of Hesed Ester and the fact that everyone could participate in cleaning the Jewish cemetery. This is very important for me as a Jew, as a member of the community, and it gives me great pleasure to do this activity. There is such a nice and useful action as cleaning the cemetery – thank you so much for it!

Since childhood, I have been keen on psychology; therefore it was my major at the university. As a student, I had worked for an international company in the sales department for almost 2 years. Thanks to this, I have learned to pull myself together and to get along with people. I invest much time and energy in my professional development. Nevertheless, I find time for my family and friends, play board games and chat with them in the evening.

As a child, I was told by my parents to care about others and to help those in need. My first volunteer experience was when I took part in the Pink March project (March of Women) dedicated to women with breast cancer. On that day, we provided psychological support to women struggling with breast cancer, told them about this disease risk factors and urged people to take care of their mothers, sisters, wives, and grandmothers.

Another memorable moment I have experienced was the Good Deeds Day. I was very much impressed by the number of people united by the same idea – doing good deeds. I was happy to see that people of all ages and different backgrounds had gathered together to help others. Now, I know that friendship can begin with a balloon and a sincere smile.

Since I started volunteering, most of my troubles have become trifling and insignificant and half of them have disappeared forever. Start volunteering today and you will get a new vision!

I became a volunteer, because it was always important for me to help people both mentally and physically. After all, if you have such an opportunity, energy and time, so why not?

Once, I came to a charity event as a volunteer, I decided to expand my social circle. This has dramatically changed my life and now I’m regularly participating in various actions. This is an opportunity for me to make the world happier! But the most significant thing is a lot of positive communication with different people!

I became a volunteer because I feel that this is what I have to do. Volunteering makes me feel better, it gives me the feeling that you spent your day for a good reason.

I am a participant of the animators club “Hag Sameah”, and volunteering is an opportunity to realize my creative skills!

I am proud that I became a part of a large family of the volunteer “Doing Good, Ukraine!” movement!

A typical dreamer: a person sometimes serious, and sometimes in a flight of his thoughts. Everything related to art — is mine, I love dancing, I love to sing, to write poetry and prose, I want to draw, but not quite well, it turned out that some time ago I played the violin and piano, but I study for an … engineer.
I love animals and kids, I like to read, that is why I compare myself with a little madly passioned, but kind Magician, so, that is actually my love to the volunteer work, I wonder and enjoy doing for people little and perhaps common, but the wonders. I believe in the fact that “Treat the people well, so they treat you the same”. And if not me, then who?

After retiring, I worked in the social service of Zavodskoy district of Nikolaev for 14 years. I know how to cope with difficulties and various unforeseen circumstances, which lonely people have to face. The Mykolayiv Volunteer Community has started its work in the Mykolayiv Society of Jewish Culture since 2015, and I joined this movement. I always try to help people, because I think that we make the world a little bit better by doing good deeds.
