I also try to participate in various Volunteer Community activities. Whenever I am asked why I do this, my answer is always the same: “When there are people who need help, there am I who have time to give it.” My life is full of emotions and wonderful events, so why not bring happy minutes to someone else’s life if I have the will and the opportunity?

Volunteering is my hobby. I get incredible pleasure helping someone, whether people or animals, or the environment.
It turns out, I’m volunteering since childhood. Once upon a time I have made some handcrafts in kindergarten and gave them to the old women living next to me. It seems like doing something small, but it gives a smile and positive emotions to others. Now all people are concerned about their own problems, and many of us lack good things in the world. If everyone gave a moment of his time per day or even per week to volunteering in all its forms, our life would be brighter and more joyous.

To help to each other- is naturally.
Iam alive thanks to grant aid of the strangers during the evacuation in Tashkent. In the train we were robbed. No one penny, no clothes. But the Uzbeks neighbors were very kind. Somebody brought food, somebody- a plate, somebody – some clothes, blankets, even sandals for me they brought.

A few months later, pregnant mom received a notice about the death of our father. She got into the hospital and was sick for a very long time. I was 8 years old when I was completely alone. It was very scary. When I began to fall down from the hunger, I was fed by an unknown Russian neighbor. She taught me to knit the mittens for front-line soldiers. And, because of my age, I could not be taken to the factory, the woman took my items and gave me the money. Such things can not be forgotten.
To Help to each other is a serious responsibility.
We, together with the older generation of artists from our theater, visit our peers at their homes, for whom it is difficult already to leave the house. we prepare a special program with the songs and verses, and show the fragments of our performances. We together drink tea, sometimes wine, we talk. We have a few rules: never talk about illnesses, never argue, and not to discuss politics and income.
To help to each other is life stimulus.
We are very serious about our volunteer program. We prepare a scenario, holiday songs, costumes, also, we try to cook the traditional dishes. All is done in good faith, with the soul. Seriously assumed responsibilities help to stay toned, and help to understand the meaning of the life.

The advantage of the volunteer organizations is an opportunity to try yourself in the organization of something really grandiose that is not always managed to be made in an usual life. And the work in a team she likes very much. The main reason, for which Elena is engaged in the volunteering, is a sincere smile on faces of various people.

Hi, everybody! My name is Kirill Verbitsky, I am 26 years old, I am an engineer. Having graduated from the institution, I was convinced that the studing doesn’t come to an end and I was interested in a subject of the self-education, in the development of the personal qualities and various skills. In the course of the accumulation of the useful knowledge I understood that this knowledge need to be shared and I decided to give the lectures of Itzhak Pintosevich’s materials. Giving lectures in the Jewish communal center I learned about the activity of the volunteer movement “Create Good Ukraine” and the youth Jewish club “Ose Tov” and have joined to them. Having become the participant, I regularly attended the meetings, deepened the knowledge of the Jewish tradition, participated in carrying out of the Shabbat and the Avdala evenings. During summer volunteer camp I have become friends with the guys- volunteers, I liked their activity and further I became the active participant of the volunteer actions. The Volunteer activity for me is an excellent opportunity to participate in good deeds, to meet remarkable and interesting people, and to develop as the personality.
Today, there aren’t a lot of communities helping the youth to learn the compassion in themselves, tolerance, mutual support and respectability, there are no places where you can find the friends, to be joined by something great, but the volunteer center — it is unambiguously such a place!

Lyuba was born and grew up in Tomsk (Russia) in the family of radio engineers. Then her father was transferred to the city of Rivne, so, the whole family moved here. About 12 years ago Lyuba’s father left for Germany. A few years later, Lyuba’s sister Vera with her children also immigrated to Germany.

Lyuba graduated from the Department of Pharmacology of the University of Chernivtsi and has been working for many years as head of a pharmacy.

She is married and has a son, Mikhail. She lives with her husband Oleg and her mother Nadezhda Zarkh who sings in the Freileche Neshama choir.

Lyuba and her whole family take an active part in all Jewish Community Programs. Her son Mikhail attends children’s creative studios and the Sunday School. They go to Shabbatons and family camps. They are members of the Young Family Club and participate in almost all Community projects and celebrations.

When Rivne Volunteer Community was founded, Lyuba and her husband came up with great ideas: Lyuba runs the Flea Market Project and Oleg runs the Beauty and Health Project. Lyuba got this idea because she is fond of fashion and hates to throw clothing away.

Wonder Hat Project is another great idea of hers.

Her motto is: “It is easy to do good deeds but it is hard to forget about them”. That is why she helps others.

My mission is to help women feel happy, find peace in the soul and harmony in relationships, become more self-confident.

I love my job and I like being a volunteer. Once in a difficult situation psychology changed my life. And now I want to help those who need it. I know that there is a way out and life is beautiful from the very beginning. Everyone has a huge internal resource, and people often do not even know about it. …

During my work in the project I have got acquainted with remarkable people: as volunteers, and those from whom I collect the  information about the dead relatives, for further transfer to the museum “Yad Vashem”, I have learned a set of interesting stories of life, I have tried to help to those people with something whom I face on the work in the project, together with the other volunteers.

I often take the pain of others as my own, trying to help in solving other people’s problems, if it is within my power. Most likely, this was the basis of my volunteer life. I participate in such projects as “Dreams do not grow old,” “Help without limits”, “Week of good deeds” with a great pleasure. To be a volunteer is a great opportunity to help others, to do good things. Being engaged in something good, helpful, kind, you fill your life with meaning, and this is important! Vladislav Shurovsky is one of the most active volunteers of our Organization “League of the Jewish Mutual Assistance». He participats in many volunteer projects and promotions. If you ask him for the help, Vladislav never refuses. Here is some information that Vladislav says about himself:
“Hello. I am twenty years old, my name is Vladislav Shurovsky, I study the political sciences, I am interested in many things, and namely, I am much interested in the World War II, in the history of different epochs, in technology and my great interest is in the knowledge of the space.
The volunteer movement I entered almost by chance, it was the invitation of the head of the “League of the Jewish Mutual Assistance”, and partly he was my friend.

Very often people ask me why I am volunteering? For that question, I always answer — I do the volunteer work, because it is initially very interesting. In addition to this, it is a very important factor for me the support to the Jewish traditions and the community in particular.
Unfortunately, I faced the fact that except ourselves, the volunteers, who are led by the idea, no one, as it turned out, cannot even help to the lonely old people. The Volunteering, in my opinion, helps to unite the Jewish youth.
Finally, the volunteering gives me positive emotions, endless energy and a totally new social circle of communication.»

I graduated from the Chisinau College of Transport and got a degree in Computer Diagnostics and Homologation of Motor Vehicles. Now, I perform diagnostics, repair, and computer configuration tasks. I do not have a permanent job; that is why I have much time for my hobbies. I play the guitar, write music, and repair bicycles. Sometimes, I get orders for taking and processing pictures, shooting short films about the city architecture.

Volunteering for me is an exceptional opportunity to help people, regardless of their age, social status, and religion. I started volunteering in the fall of 2015.

My first experience as a volunteer was in the project called Clean Chisinau. After that, I felt the inner necessity to help others. Within the framework of the second project, I visited the animal shelter called The Island of Hope. We brought dog food and other necessary things, and cleaned up the territory. After that, I got involved in the Repair School project. I used my skills as a repairman of household appliances to help the elder by fixing the windows, repairing old devices and furniture, etc. The repair classes held in the Republican Volunteer Center were very useful!

In fact, each project in which I participate creates memorable experiences. When I get involved in a new project, I remember all the details because for me everything is new and interesting.

I think that the best way to become a volunteer is to make up your mind. Your friends’ advice or your acquaintances’ invitations do not guarantee that you will still be interested in volunteering in the future. And it is absolutely different when your inner volunteer breaks free and makes you do good deeds. If you feel that inner volunteer inside, you are welcome in our Republican Volunteer Center!

My name is Victoria. I am 37 years old. I have three children. I have got a degree in medicine and I am a lifelong learner. I have recently returned from Moscow where I attended extension courses in immunohistochemistry.

I like to take a nap, have a cup of coffee, take pictures, travel, do some needlework.

My first experience as a volunteer was in 1997 when we were packing food and hygiene kits. After that, I participated in all charity events and other activities carried out in our Jewish Community. I can talk about that for hours.

I have noticed that there are 2 types of volunteers: active and passive ones. I belong to the second group. I never come up with new ideas, I only do what I am told to do. But whenever my help is needed, I am always there.

Volunteer activities have become very popular nowadays, and I always take pictures in the Jewish Community Center. I have even held an exhibition of family photos within the framework of the project called Family Memories Are Jewish Community Memories.

Within the framework of the charity event dedicated to the International Children’s Day, I gave master classes to children and we sewed puppets for the show which was performed in the orphanage. My eldest daughter Margo helped me give a master class in body art at Purim Fair.

Besides, I am a member of the Strategic Planning Committee.

And I am always eager to help others

I am 22, and I have already tried many different ways of the social activities, but the volunteering is the most suitable for my self-realization. That is why, when I saw the ad about “Volunteering School”, I did not think much time- I went and became the volunteer. I like the atmosphere of the Volunteering Center very much: all the people are very creative, active and cheerful here. You can not simply lose your heart together with such people! Helping the other people, we all together always do one and very useful thing, and we can be proud by this! I am very happy to take part in all the events and I like it very much.

My name is Marina and it seams, I am 20. At least, it is written so in a document called “passport”. Honestly, I don’t feel like that. In school days it was somehow clear and simply. If you are 5 years old, then you have such duties as to pick up toys, to obey, to do homework for preparation for school. If you are 10, then to study, to wash the dishes, to clean up your room, to look after pets. If 15 – … it is clear too. And the time went correctly, one line, approximately with one speed, everything was in that minute in which had to be.

But from a certain stage of my life it became already not so. The line was bent, has cracked, and deadlocks have appeared. At that time my life has turned over. More precisely, it is possible even to tell, it was dropped. I hope that only in order that I could get up and to put it according to my own design.

When the train has brought me to Sumy (I still don’t know whether I was in this train a passenger or his driver), I have opened some new horizons for myself. Not in the financial or material sense, but in moral. In this city I feel like at home. Not only because there are my parents, but also because there live people who let me on their house full of ideas and good deeds.

Our communication has begun with the simple help. The help for people in need they saw for the first time. They taught me how pleasant it is to receive and also to give. Giving became my good habit and I am really thankful for this opportunity. Who, if not we? Who, if not I? When, if not now?

Having arrived from Israel in September, 2014, I have got my friendly family in Hesed “Tikva” where I am always helped and on any question answered “to rise on my legs” in the city in which a lot of things weren’t familiar for me.
Precisely, I decided to offer my help in those small affairs, feasible to me, and which are the usual work of the volunteer center.
Today, I lead the direction – “Family volunteering”. The sense of this direction of the volunteer activity is in the following: the lonely client of a Hesed is consolidated to a family, and we several times a month visit him and whenever possible we help the family.
The work of the center is always actual. It is very important to have any support and in difficult life situations to get this support.

About the Jewish life in the city I learned after a trip in 2014 to Taglit. The Community festivals and a lot of new teenagers have sucked me in this cosy Jewish world. In the community there are many programs where you can help to different people: children, retired, veterans and to the people with additional needs. I like to participate in volunteer projects, because it is a good habit which makes us kinder and the world – better.
